Lvivteploenerho searches for leaks: heating fluid to be dyed green

Throughout this week — from Monday to Thursday — repair crews from Lviv Municipal Communal Enterprise ‘Lvivteploenerho’ are carrying out preventive leak detection across the city’s heating networks. To identify problem sections, fluorescein is being added to the heating fluid, turning the water a distinctive green colour.

Once the fluid has been dyed, company workers will walk the streets along the heat supply routes and inspect boiler rooms and heating plants for any trace of green liquid. The works cover the Sykhiv, Halytskyi, Frankivsk, and Lychakiv districts — home to some of the oldest pipelines in the city.

‘We are once again carrying out leak detection on our heating networks. To do this, we are dyeing the heating fluid green. Our workers will then walk the streets along which the heat supply routes run and inspect boiler rooms and heating plants for any green-coloured water leaks,’ Lviv Municipal Communal Enterprise ‘Lvivteploenerho’ announced.

Residents are asked to remain vigilant: should any green-coloured liquid be found on the street, near a building, or in a basement, they should immediately contact the Lvivteploenerho operational dispatch service on 1585.
