In Lviv, the award programme for athletes has been expanded to include support for participants of the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games. This decision was made at the session of the Lviv City Council on 30 April 2026.
Anton Nikulin, director of the LCC Sports Office, emphasised that the programme’s update is an important step in the development of the athlete support system in the city. The programme now also covers awards for medallists of European and world championships.
According to the new decisions, the following awards are established for Paralympic Games medallists: for first place — 389,610 UAH, second place — 324,675 UAH, third place — 259,740 UAH.
Since 2020, a programme of awarding athletes and their coaches has been in place in the Lviv City Territorial Community. Last year, one-time payments were received by 297 athletes.
