The first meeting of the working group dedicated to the development of the former Lviv Bus Factory territory took place in Lviv. Participants, including university rectors, entrepreneurs, and government representatives, discussed the possibilities for transforming this area. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.

Inna Svystun, Director of the Economic Department, noted that the former factory was one of the largest industrial centres in the city. She emphasised the importance of transforming this area into an innovation park, which would contribute to Lviv’s economic development.

Lviv’s Chief Architect Anton Kolomeytsev highlighted the architectural and planning aspects, noting that the area has the potential for the development of innovative enterprises. He stressed that this location is ideal for high-tech production.

Participants also discussed legal aspects related to the ownership of objects on the factory territory. The Lviv City Council plans to approach several embassies to conduct an economic study and involve universities in a social study.

Ihor Helzhynskyi from Lviv Polytechnic National University expressed the opinion that a science park could emerge in the area, becoming the city’s think tank. Representatives of large enterprises and clusters also joined the discussion on development prospects.

First Deputy Mayor of Lviv Andriy Moskalenko concluded that the city aims to preserve the production potential of the area and avoid its transformation into a residential complex. The City Council is also working on preserving the church on the factory territory.
