Change of gas supplier in Lviv region: what’s new?

Since May 1 of this year, more than 10 million Ukrainian households that were domestic gas consumers of 23 regional gas supply companies, in particular in the Lviv region, found themselves in a situation where their suppliers could not fulfill their function.

For uninterrupted gas supply in the conditions of martial law, LLC “Gas Supply Company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” ensured the supply of natural gas to household consumers of Lviv Oblast.

Later, based on the relevant decisions of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Operator of the Gas Transport System of Ukraine, in order to protect the interests of consumers, they were included in the register of consumers of LLC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” under the terms of the “Fixed” annual tariff plan with one of the most favorable prices on the market – 7.96 UAH/m3 (with VAT, without transportation costs).

Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions.

1. Do I need to submit additional documents for the transition?

No, because the transition from the previous gas supply company took place automatically. At the same time, LLC Naftogaz of Ukraine recommends consumers to contact the company’s contact center to update their contact information.

2. Were the benefits preserved after changing the provider?

Yes, the change of provider did not affect the consumer’s existing benefits.

3. What will be the cost of gas?

All consumers receive gas according to the “Fixed” annual tariff plan at a price of UAH 7.96/m3 (including VAT, without transportation costs). This price will be valid until at least May 1, 2023.

4. From what date must the bills be paid?

The calculation for gas consumed from May 1, 2022 must be made to the accounts of Naftogaz of Ukraine. Payments for gas received before 30 April 2022 must be made to the accounts of the previous supplier.

5. What to do with overpayment for consumed gas?

The issue of returning the balance of overpayments, accrued benefits and housing subsidies should be resolved by contacting the previous provider. Unfortunately, there is no effective mechanism for transferring funds between companies

At the same time, LLC Naftogaz of Ukraine advises consumers who had overpayments as of May 1, 2022, to take the following actions:

write an application for refund of overpayment;
add a copy of your passport, identification number and full bank details of your own card account (indicating IBAN, MFI, SDRPOU of the bank);
send a package of documents to the mailing address of the previous supplier.

6. What if the previous supplier continues to send invoices?

Consumers will receive two separate payment accounts.

The first is from GC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” for consumed gas. The second is from local operators of gas distribution networks (from Lvivgaz JSC) for its transportation.

At the same time, LLC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Group asks to inform about abuses on the part of previous gas supply companies, for example, if they continue to send invoices or demands to pay for natural gas consumption services, starting from May 1, 2022. Please report such cases by letter to client@gas.ua.

7. Has my personal account number been saved?

No, because companies use different information systems. You can find out the personal account number in the following ways:

on the website www.gas.ua on the page “Find out the account number”;
GASUA chatbots in Viber, Telegram and NaftogazGasSupply in Facebook Messenger;
on the receipt delivered by Ukrposhta;
in the contact center of Naftogaz of Ukraine LLC.

8. How to pay for the services of consumed natural gas?

Online:

in the consumer’s personal account at my.gas.ua;
in GASUA chatbots in Viber, Telegram and NaftogazGasSupply in Facebook Messenger;
through websites and mobile applications of banks;
using payment systems (Portmone, LiqPay, EasyPay, iPay).

In person: through self-service payment terminals; in branches of the bank, Ukrposhta or Novaya Poshta.
