14-year-old girl killed near Smerekiv in Lviv region after car driven by a prosecutor hit children her 10-year-old brother hospitalized

A tragic road accident occurred in the Lviv region a few hours ago and was publicly reported by prosecution authorities. As a result of the crash, one child died and another child was injured and taken to hospital.

According to law enforcement, the driver of the passenger car was a prosecutor from one of the district prosecutor’s offices in the Lviv region. He was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Where and when it happened

The accident took place on February 24 at around 7:00 p.m., after dark, near the village of Smerekiv in Lviv district. Preliminary information indicates that the driver struck a pedestrian (or pedestrians), and one of the victims died at the scene from injuries.
