Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a Ukrainian citizen was found guilty of collaboration (part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment with a 12-year disqualification to hold positions in law enforcement agencies and confiscation of all property.
Prosecutors proved in court that in April 2022, while in the occupied territory of Luhansk region, the firefighter-rescuer of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine began working for the occupiers.
The accused betrayed the oath of a law enforcement officer and voluntarily took an oath of allegiance to the pseudo-republic. He took up a position in the so-called ‘Ministry of Emergency Situations and Disaster Management of the Luhansk People’s Republic’.
The special pre-trial investigation was carried out by the SBI Territorial Department in Lviv based on the materials of the SBU Office in Lviv region.
