15-year-old boy killed in BMW crash near Velyki Mosty, four others from Sheptytskyi district hospitalized

A tragic car accident in the Lviv region has claimed the life of a teenager and injured four others. The incident occurred on October 26 at around 2:00 AM near the town of Velyki Mosty in the Sheptytskyi district.

According to preliminary reports, a 26-year-old local resident driving a BMW X5 lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road into a ditch and overturned.

As a result of the severe impact, a 15-year-old passenger — also from the district — died at the scene. The driver and three other passengers, aged 19, 24, and 25, sustained injuries and were transported to intensive care.

Investigators from the Lviv regional police have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of road safety rules resulting in death. The article provides for imprisonment from three to eight years, with a possible driving ban of up to three years or without such a ban.

Law enforcement officers are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the crash.
