A 28-year-old resident of the city of Kamianka-Buzka was found guilty of domestic violence (Article 126-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) by the public prosecution of the Zhovkiv district prosecutor’s office.
He was sentenced to 2 months in prison.
The prosecutor proved in court that the accused abused alcohol and systematically committed psychological violence against his mother.
In particular, the son unjustifiably insulted the victim, shouted loudly and used obscenities in her address. The man repeatedly threatened the pensioner with physical violence.
As a result, such illegal actions of the person involved led to psychological suffering and deterioration of the victim’s quality of life.
Therefore, the court additionally imposed a restrictive measure on the man – the obligation to complete a program for offenders.
