As the law enforcement officers established, a 43-year-old resident of Zolochiv organized illegal transportation of a conscripted man across the state border of Ukraine to Hungary outside the checkpoints.
The perpetrator was exposed by operatives of the Migration Police Department, investigators of the department of investigation of crimes in the sphere of economic and official activities of the investigative department of the police of Lviv region, together with employees of the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The man estimated his services at 20,000 euros.
On April 18, law enforcement officers detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after receiving money from a “client” in the amount of 15,000 euros and 5,000 US dollars.
The investigators informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
