According to preliminary information, at around 00:30 today, a report was received via the 102 emergency line about a possible break-in at a store located at 20 Danylyshyna Street in Lviv.
After the first patrol police crew arrived at the scene, an explosion occurred. When a second crew approached the location, a second explosion followed.
Preliminarily, a 23-year-old police officer was killed. Damage was also recorded to:
- a patrol vehicle;
- a civilian vehicle.
The number of injured people is still being established. Ambulance teams were dispatched to the scene, a crime-scene investigative unit is working on-site, and prosecutors are documenting evidence related to the suspected criminal offense.
The incident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations (URPTI) under Part 2 of Article 258 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code — a terrorist act resulting in severe consequences.
Procedural supervision is being provided by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, while the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Lviv region is conducting the pre-trial investigation.
All circumstances of the incident are currently being clarified.
