On 24 May, high and extreme fire danger expected in Lviv region

On 24 May, high (4th class) and extreme (5th class) fire danger is forecast in places across Lviv region. This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region.

Rescuers stress that in dry and windy weather even a small spark can cause a large-scale fire in natural ecosystems. Fire spreads rapidly through dry vegetation, destroys nature and poses a threat to people and residential buildings.

The State Emergency Service urges residents of Lviv region not to burn dry grass or rubbish, not to light campfires near dry vegetation, and not to throw cigarette ends or matches on the ground.

If you detect a fire, rescuers ask you to call 101 immediately.
