A fatal road accident occurred this morning near the town of Velyki Mosty in the Lviv region. A Skoda Octavia collided with a moose that suddenly crossed the road.
As a result of the collision:

the passenger, a 26-year-old man, died at the scene;

the driver sustained multiple injuries and was transported to Sheptytsky City Hospital for treatment.
Police and emergency services responded to the accident scene. The exact circumstances of the collision are being investigated.
According to Road Control “Zakhid” (Chervonohrad), such incidents are often caused by wild animals unexpectedly entering the roadway, especially in early morning hours or at night.
Authorities urge drivers to be particularly cautious in areas marked with “Wild Animals” road signs and to reduce speed when passing through such zones.
