
In the village of Sheptytske, law enforcement officers detained a 33-year-old local man suspected of inflicting serious bodily injuries on his 43-year-old partner. The victim is currently in intensive care, and the suspect faces up to eight years in prison.
The incident occurred on November 19, when medical personnel reported the hospitalization of a woman with multiple severe injuries to the police. Officers from the criminal police, investigators, and forensic experts from the Sheptytske District Police and Lviv Region Police responded promptly.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a sudden argument broke out between the couple, during which the man began to severely beat the woman with his hands and feet across various parts of her body. The injuries were classified as serious, and the victim was immediately hospitalized.
Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, investigators charged the suspect under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional grievous bodily harm). This offense carries a penalty of five to eight years of imprisonment.
The court approved the request of the investigators and ordered the suspect to be held in custody. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
