“Cannabis”, “amphetamine” and “PVP” – in Lviv the police detained a “hostage”
It was established that the 33-year-old Lviv woman was involved in the distribution of narcotics and psychotropic substances, making “bookmarks” and selling them “from hand to hand”, and also organized a place for drug use.
The perpetrator was exposed by operatives of the Drug Crime Control Department and the Criminal Analysis Department of the Lviv Oblast Police together with investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural guidance of the Galicia District Prosecutor’s Office.
On April 1, law enforcement officers detained a woman in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on Velychkovskyi Street in Lviv during the execution of “bookmarks”. She had with her 7 rolls with a substance of vegetable origin, outwardly similar to the narcotic drug “cannabis”.
In addition, during the warranted searches, the police found and seized rolls and zip-top bags containing substances similar to the narcotic drug “cannabis”, psychotropic drugs “amphetamine” and “PVP”, packaging materials, electronic scales and other physical evidence.
Everything seized was sent to the Lviv Research Expert Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for research.
The perpetrator’s monthly income from illegal activities amounted to about 100,000 hryvnias.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing criminal offenses provided for in Part 2 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is imprisonment for a term of up to ten years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
