35-year-old woman from Sheptytskyi district stole a donation box for Ukrainian Armed Forces in central Sokal

Police have identified the woman involved in the theft of a donation box intended to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The box was located on Sheptytskyi Street in Sokal, Sheptytskyi district. The suspect, a 35-year-old local resident, now faces up to eight years in prison.

The incident occurred on October 24, when law enforcement received a report about the disappearance of the box used to collect donations for Ukraine’s defenders.

Officers from the criminal police, investigators, juvenile prevention units, and other departments of Police Station No. 2 of the Sheptytskyi District Police Department were involved in solving the case.

Under the procedural guidance of the Sheptytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office, a criminal case was opened under Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — “Theft.” This article carries a penalty of five to eight years of imprisonment.

Investigators established that a 35-year-old woman from the district was responsible for the theft. Physical evidence was seized from her.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Authorities are currently deciding whether to officially serve the suspect with charges and choose a preventive measure.
