A 35-year-old man robbed a 63-year-old woman on the street in Sambor

The law enforcement officers remind once again that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

On May 10, around 6:45 p.m., the police received a report from a 63-year-old resident of Sambor that she was attacked and robbed by an unknown person on Chornovola Street.

An investigative and operative group, operatives of the criminal police and employees of other services of the Sambir district police department immediately went to the scene of the incident. According to the law enforcement officers, an unknown man ran up to the woman, pushed her and pulled out a mobile phone from her pocket, after which he ran away.

During the survey of the area, officers of the response sector of the patrol police found a man involved in the robbery at the local bus station, from where he was trying to leave the city.

The perpetrator, a 35-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district, who had previously been tried several times for similar crimes, was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Physical evidence was taken from him.

The issue of notifying the detainee of suspicion of committing a criminal offense, provided for in Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, is being resolved. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
