Under the procedural leadership of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 44-year-old man from Lviv was exposed and notified of suspicion of illegally transporting persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3, Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect contributed to the illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine during martial law.
For a monetary reward, he promised the conscript to produce a package of fictitious documents. On the basis of the latter, the information that the person is a volunteer from a public organization was entered into the “Path” system.
This gave the man the right to cross the border unimpeded.
He estimated his services at $4,200.
The man was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after he receives part of the stipulated funds.
Investigations are ongoing, other involved persons are being identified.
At the prosecutor’s request, the detainee was remanded in custody.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region based on the materials of the SBU Department in Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
