
In Sheptytskyi, police detained a man suspected of attacking a passerby with a knife. The victim was taken to hospital. If found guilty, the suspect may face from three to seven years in prison.
What happened in Sheptytskyi
On May 20, at around 00:40, police received a report that a man had been injured on Bandery Street in Sheptytskyi.
Criminal police operatives, investigators, and officers from other units of the Sheptytskyi District Police Department arrived at the scene.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement, that night a 44-year-old resident of the district center provoked a conflict with a 38-year-old resident of Sheptytskyi. During the incident, the attacker stabbed the man in the leg and then fled the scene.
The injured man was hospitalized. Doctors diagnosed him with a deep cut wound to the upper third of the thigh.
Police response
Officers carried out operational measures and established the suspect’s whereabouts. The man was then detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The court imposed a preventive measure on the suspect: detention with the possibility of bail.
