A businesswoman in the Lviv region will be tried for causing the city’s budget a loss of almost 700,000 hryvnias.
As established by law enforcement officers, the accused, a 53-year-old resident of the Zolochiv district, committed significant violations during the evaluation of an excavator-loader. This excavator was purchased for the municipal enterprise by the Zolochiv City Council at an inflated price.
During the evaluation, the accused, who has the appropriate qualifications, knowingly abused her authority. She assessed the excavator at a price exceeding its actual value by more than 688,000 hryvnias. **Thus, the local budget was damaged by the specified amount.**
The criminal was uncovered by officers of the criminal police and investigators of the Zolochiv district police department. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the indictment has been sent to court.
For her actions, the accused faces a penalty of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years, with disqualification from holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years, with or without confiscation of property.
