As of April 3, 2024, there were 2,485 traffic accidents on the roads of the Lviv region. Of them, 420 were traffic accidents with victims, in which 54 people died and 572 were injured.
The main causes of road accidents are the violation of maneuvering rules by vehicle drivers, exceeding the permitted and safe speed, failure to maintain a distance, and violation of the rules for crossing intersections.
A separate category of road accidents is driving vehicles while intoxicated. Since the beginning of the year, for this reason, 63 traffic accidents have occurred on the highways of Lviv and the region, 18 of them involving victims, in which one person died and 32 people were injured.
The police of the Lviv region once again calls on all road users – drivers of vehicles and pedestrians – to strictly observe safety rules.
Drivers, do not exceed the permitted and safe driving speed, especially in adverse road and weather conditions, as well as in the dark and in conditions of insufficient visibility. Also, carefully monitor the situation on the road and do not be distracted from driving vehicles. The same applies to cyclists and scooterists.
Pedestrians – cross the road in designated places and with all safety precautions. Take care of life and health.
