In the previous case, the court chose a preventive measure for the perpetrator – detention with the possibility of bail in the amount of 500,000 hryvnias. After paying the specified amount, the suspect took up the old business again.
A 65-year-old resident of Lviv was once again exposed by the employees of the Migration Police Department in the Lviv region together with operatives of the 7th border detachment of the State Border Service of Ukraine and investigators of the Sambir district police department, under the procedural guidance of the Sambir district prosecutor’s office.
As the law enforcement officers established, he once again organized the illegal crossing of the state border for four conscript citizens of Ukraine, residents of Lviv and the region aged 24 to 57. The attacker valued his “services” at USD 4,000 from each “client”.
In particular, the suspect instructed his “clients”, ensured their delivery to the border of Ukraine with the Republic of Poland, temporary accommodation, and also provided transportation services.
Investigators informed the attacker of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. This time, the court chose a preventive measure for the suspect – detention with the possibility of bail in the amount of 1.2 million hryvnias.
