
On the morning of January 17, at around 8:00 AM, a road accident occurred on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Liubyntsi in Stryi district, involving an international passenger bus.
According to preliminary police reports, the Setra bus operating the Vienna–Kyiv route, driven by a 59-year-old man, veered off the road, hit a metal guardrail, and collided with a tree.
At the time of the accident, 25 passengers were on board.
Injury report:
- 9 passengers, aged between 19 and 69, sought medical assistance.
- 7 people were hospitalized as doctors work to confirm their diagnoses and assess their conditions.
- The remaining passengers were taken to a local invincibility point (shelter) at the Stryi District Police Department.
There, police psychologists are providing emotional support. Passengers also have access to warmth, hot drinks, and food while waiting for a replacement bus.
Investigators and law enforcement officers are working at the scene to determine the full circumstances of the accident. The legal classification of the incident is currently under review.
