On 1 November at around 13:40 near the village of Ruda-Siletska in Lviv district, a road traffic collision occurred in which a cyclist was injured.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, a Ford Transit minibus driven by a 54-year-old resident of the city of Kharkiv collided with a bicycle ridden by a 74-year-old local resident.
As a result of the impact, the 74-year-old cyclist sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Investigators from Police Station No.1 of Lviv District Police Department No.1 have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for the same period.
Police officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
