Accident in Horodok: Car Hits Pedestrian, Police Investigating
The traffic accident occurred on February 16, around midnight, on Peremyshlska Street in the city of Horodok, Lviv District.
Accident Circumstances
As preliminarily established by law enforcement, the driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer, a 20-year-old local resident, hit a pedestrian, a 21-year-old resident of Horodok.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrian sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
Investigation
Investigators from Police Department No. 1 of Lviv District Police Directorate No. 2 have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanction is imprisonment for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
