Tragedy on the Railway in Lviv: Man Dies Under Train Wheels
A road traffic incident occurred on April 25 at 22:40 near the platform in the territory of Park 5 in Lviv.
Incident Circumstances
According to preliminary findings by law enforcement, the train on the Przemyśl-Zaporizhzhia route ran over a 52-year-old resident of the Lviv district who was lying on the tracks. The man died at the scene from injuries sustained in the incident.
Investigation and Legal Consequences
The investigators from Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 have opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 276 (Violation of Safety Rules for Railway, Water, or Air Transport) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction provides for imprisonment ranging from five to ten years. Police are establishing all the circumstances of the event.
