The road accident occurred on 2 December, at around 16.30, on the Lviv-Lutsk motorway near the village of Novyi Stav, Lviv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, a Honda HR-V driven by a 41-year-old Lviv resident and a Lexus NX 200 driven by a 42-year-old Lviv resident collided.
As a result of the accident, the drivers of both vehicles, as well as two passengers of the Lexus NX 200, Lviv residents aged 33 and 42, were injured and taken to a medical facility.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
