OWN SECURITY OF THE STATE BORDER GUARD SERVICE EXPOSED A UKRAINIAN WHO OFFERED A BRIBE TO A BORDER GUARD
In this way, the 43-year-old native of Zaporozhye intended to cross the border without proper documents. In order to “solve” the issue of illegal departure, the man offered the border guard of the “Rava-Ruska” department of the Lviv detachment an illegal benefit in the amount of 2,000 US dollars, to which he was categorically refused.
During urgent investigative actions, within the framework of criminal proceedings under Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the fact of providing an illegal benefit was documented by a joint interdepartmental group consisting of officers of the WVVB from the Lviv border detachment of the WVVB “West”, employees of the strategic investigations department in the Lviv region, investigators of the State Security Service in the Lviv region under the procedural guidance of the Lviv specialized prosecutor’s office in the field of defense of the Western region.
The perpetrator was detained according to Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. The law enforcement officers informed the man of the suspicion under part 3 of Art. 369 “Offer, promise or provision of an unlawful benefit to an official”. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of four to eight years.
