Man in Lviv Fired Near Children’s Playground

On Hnata Khotkevycha Street in Lviv, an eyewitness called the police due to gunfire near a children’s playground. The woman informed the inspectors that a man, apparently armed, frightened the children by firing several shots into the air.

The patrol officers cautiously approached the man, knocked the gun from his hands, and apprehended him. The investigative team established that the 34-year-old detainee had fired around ten shots. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the alleged pneumatic gun was seized for examination.

The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He faces up to seven years in prison under part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for punishment for hooliganism. A pre-trial investigation is underway.
