The Sokal district court sentenced a man who molested a minor girl who lives in the neighborhood.
The peasant was sentenced to five years in prison and banned from working with children for another three years.
This is stated in the decision of the Sokal District Court.
“As indicated in the verdict handed down in April 2024, the incident happened back in July 2018 in one of the villages of the Chervonograd district near the border with the Volyn region. The accused (his name is withheld in the case file) invited a minor girl to enter an unfinished building in the village and committed lewd acts towards the child (exposed the genitals and encouraged the girl to touch them),” the report says.
The man admitted his guilt in court
The defendant stated that that day he was helping his neighbors in the household, there was a child in the yard who asked to swing her on the swing. According to the testimony of the husband:
After riding her on the swing, he went to the toilet in the unfinished People’s House. He did not see that the victim followed him. When he was leaving the premises of the People’s House, the victim was at the entrance to this premises. He told her to go out, but she said that they would go out together. The child did not cry. He bought her ice cream before and after he went to relieve himself. After that, he still rocked the victim on the swing, and later the neighbor came by car and took her away.
According to the girl’s mother, that day she was at work, her mother (the girl’s grandmother) called her and informed her that someone had kidnapped her granddaughter. However, one of the neighbors saw the defendant carrying the girl on his shoulders to the unfinished club. When the neighbor drove up there, he saw a man holding a girl in his arms, and the girl herself was crying. In the presence of her mother and a psychologist, the girl said that the accused told her to touch him.
The court found the accused guilty of corrupting a minor child. He was sentenced to five years in prison with a three-year ban on working with children. The verdict can still be appealed.
