A 32-year-old resident of the Sheptytskyi district is suspected of illegally selling ammunition.
According to the investigation, in October of this year, the man illegally sold ammunition for firearms, specifically for Kalashnikov rifles. He sold the ‘goods’ for cash in person, having previously arranged a meeting by phone with the buyer. He chose an abandoned building in the village center as the place of sale.
It has been documented that he sold nearly 860 rounds of ammunition, receiving 14,000 UAH for them. Immediately after the sale, he was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. In addition, during searches conducted at his residence, another 40 rounds of ammunition for firearms were discovered and seized.
Under the procedural guidance of the Sheptytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office, the man was notified of suspicion for the illegal acquisition, storage, and sale of ammunition without the required legal permission (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Investigative actions are ongoing, and multiple expert examinations have been appointed. At the prosecution’s request, a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to bail was chosen for the suspect.
