Prosecutors from the Sheptytsky District Prosecutor’s Office proved in court the guilt of a 30-year-old local resident in the rape and corruption of a child.
The court sentenced him to 10 years in prison. In addition, he was deprived of the right to hold certain positions and engage in activities related to children for a period of 3 years. **It was proven**, that from 2019 to 2023, he repeatedly corrupted his young cousin, and in 2023, he raped her.
The man chose times for his crimes when neither her mother nor the older children were at home. The crime became known thanks to a doctor who conducted a routine examination of the child. The mother, hearing from the hospital psychologist about the abuse of her daughter, turned to law enforcement. *”It started when she went to first grade,”* according to the child.
Thanks to the coordinated work of law enforcement officers, the man was found and detained. He was charged with rape and corruption of a minor (part 4, article 152, part 2, article 156 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Until the verdict comes into legal force, the man will remain in custody. In addition, a decision was made to include information about the convict in the Unified Register of Persons Convicted of Crimes Against the Sexual Freedom and Sexual Integrity of a Minor.
