In Lviv Region, a trial has begun against a state registrar who, abusing his authority, caused the illegal change of ownership of a residential house. The house, approximately 280 square meters in size and valued at over a million hryvnias, was illegally re-registered in another person’s name.
The accused interfered with the automated system of the State Register of Real Rights, where he made unauthorized changes and registered the property for another individual. His actions were discovered and documented through the joint efforts of investigators from the police department №3 of the Lviv District Police Administration №2 and operatives from the Cybercrime Counteraction Department in Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Office.
The pre-trial investigation of the criminal proceeding has been completed and the indictment has been sent to court. For the crimes stipulated by Part 3 of Article 365-2 and Part 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the official faces up to eight years of imprisonment with the possibility of property confiscation and a ban on holding certain positions.
