The police seized the weapon and detained the “shooter”. The accused faces up to seven years in prison for his crime.
As previously reported, criminal police operatives together with investigators of the Yavoriv District Police Department identified the offender, a 56-year-old resident of the Yavoriv district. On 7 July, around 01.30, he left his house and fired six shots from a device for firing rubber bullets “PMR” in the direction of a group of people who, in his opinion, violated the ceasefire. In doing so, the accused inflicted bodily harm on one of them.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under the procedural supervision of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office under Part 4 of Article 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed. The indictment has been sent to court.
The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.
