Demolition of Platforms in Lviv: Supreme Court Upholds Decision

Ukraine’s Supreme Court has upheld the decision in favour of the Lviv City Council regarding the demolition of two summer platforms on Svobody Avenue, located in front of the restaurants “Yazykata Teshcha” and “Gallery of Knights”. The structures have been deemed illegal and unauthorised.

The total area of these platforms is 738 square metres, and they were operating without the necessary documentation. In December 2024, the construction department demanded their removal. In response, the company “BiNP LTD” attempted to halt the decision through the courts in Lviv Oblast.

Although the appellate court initially supported the entrepreneurs, the Supreme Court overturned this decision. The judges indicated the unlawfulness of the previous ruling and confirmed that the disputed platforms were installed without proper authorisation. As a result, the land lease for these platforms was not renewed after 2024.
