Deputy from Stryi Region Accused of Unauthorized Occupation of Water Fund Lands
Prosecutors of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office have completed a pre-trial investigation and submitted an indictment to the court against a deputy of one of the village councils of the Stryi district. He is charged with unauthorized occupation of a land plot in a protected area (Part 2 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Case Circumstances
The investigation established that the accused, during August – September 2024, without the necessary permits, occupied land in a protected area, which is a coastal protective strip of the Opir River. This involves a water fund land plot located in the center of the resort village Slavske.
To achieve this, the man exceeded the boundaries of land plots owned by his wife and artificially created an earthen mound. In addition, he installed a concrete foundation with metal posts for the further fencing of the annexed land. Thus, he illegally increased the total area of his wife’s land plots.
Legal Consequences
At the request of the prosecution party, the unauthorized occupied plot has been arrested. Pre-trial investigation and operational support are carried out by police unit No. 3 of the Stryi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region.
