A scandal has erupted in Lviv region involving a state registrar accused of illegally altering the State Land Cadastre. The case has been sent to court following an investigation that uncovered data falsification, which led to the exchange of coordinates of two plots in the Skole district.
The incident occurred in 2022 when an official from the Main Directorate of the State Geocadastre of Lviv Oblast manipulated information regarding the locations of lands belonging to a local resident and her daughter. It turned out that they had not requested any data changes, and the mistake was used as a pretext for falsifications.
The wrongful actions were discovered during the divorce of one of the owners when a dispute arose over property, effectively located on the mother-in-law’s land but registered on the wife’s land. The indictment against the registrar has already been sent to court, where his actions will be examined in accordance with Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Currently, another investigation is ongoing into other individuals who might have benefited from these frauds. The case is under the supervision of Police Station No. 2 of the Stryi District Police Department.
