The Zhovkva District Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment against a state registrar from one of the city councils in the Lviv region. She is accused of unauthorized modification of data in automated systems, committed by a person with access to such systems, under Part 1 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, in 2022, the accused illegally registered property ownership for non-residential premises totaling nearly 590 sq. m in favor of a local resident. The premises included a garage and a refrigeration facility.
To complete the registration, the registrar entered changes into the State Register of Property Rights to Real Estate without possessing all the required documents. In particular, there was no information to verify the acquisition, change, or termination of ownership rights to the property.
The investigation was conducted by officers of Police Unit No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, with operational support from the Cybercrime Counteraction Unit in the Lviv region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
