Law enforcers once again remind that under martial law, theft, robbery, extortion, as well as misappropriation, embezzlement or seizure of property through abuse of office, are punishable by maximum penalties.
The 29-year-old resident of Lviv was exposed by district police officers jointly with investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1. The offender’s involvement in nine thefts from various shops located on Chornovil Avenue and Petra Pancha Street in Lviv was established.
Investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural supervision of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office, opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and also chose a measure of restraint against him. The maximum sentence provided for by the article is up to eight years in prison.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
