Lviv resident is sentenced to 8 years in prison for attempted murder, hooliganism and illegal seizure of a car

Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 37-year-old Lviv resident was found guilty of completed attempted murder, hooliganism and illegal seizure of a vehicle (Article 15(2), Article 115(1), Article 296(4), Article 289(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to 8 years in prison.

It was established that in Lviv, the accused drove a car to the victim’s house, shot him three times with a firearm and fled the scene. As a result, the man was injured, but thanks to timely hospitalisation, he was saved.

After the attempted murder, the man went to his friend’s dacha, which is located in a village in Horodok district. They drank alcohol together. However, later a conflict arose between them, during which the defendant hit the man in the face and threatened him with a firearm. And then he shot at him as he was running away.

In addition, the Lviv resident took possession of his friend’s car. However, after driving about a kilometre, he left the vehicle on the road and fled.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.
