Two people were sentenced to 9 and 10 years behind bars for smuggling and selling drugs from the Netherlands

In support of the public indictment of the prosecutors of the Galician district prosecutor’s office of the city of Lviv, a resident of Kyiv was found guilty of smuggling psychotropic substances in particularly large quantities (Part 3 of Article 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and a resident of Lviv was found guilty of possession and sale of psychotropic substances (Part 2, 3 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They were sentenced to 10 and 9 years of imprisonment, respectively.

Prosecutors proved in court that the convict was involved in smuggling and selling narcotics from the Netherlands.

It was established that the accused went to Amsterdam to purchase a wholesale batch of psychotropic substances. Having bought about 13 kg of pills and 3,000 brands of LSD, she packed them in candy wrappers and put them in a suitcase.

After that, the woman went to Germany, from where she sent the suitcase to Ukraine by bus.

In Lviv, a local resident picked up the parcel from the train station. The convict provided packing and sending of “orders” across Ukraine.

The value of seized psychotropic substances at black market prices is about UAH 16 million.

The convicts will remain in custody until the verdict becomes final.
