
Four people, including a six-year-old boy, were injured in a traffic accident in the Lviv region.
The traffic accident occurred on September 9, around 12:15, on the “Lviv-Sambir-Uzhgorod” road near the village of Melnychne in Sambir District. According to preliminary police findings, there was a collision between a BMW X3, driven by a 30-year-old resident of a village in Lviv District, and a Mazda CX7 driven by a 27-year-old woman from Sambir District.
As a result of the accident, the Mazda CX7 driver and her passengers, a six-year-old boy and a 31-year-old man – residents of Sambir District, as well as a passenger of the BMW X3, a 27-year-old woman from Lviv District, sustained injuries and were taken to medical facilities.
Police investigators from Department #2 of the Sambir District Police Department have initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty under the article is restriction of freedom for up to three years, with disqualification from driving for up to three years. Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
