A traffic accident occurred in the Lviv region, resulting in injuries to a passenger of a car.
The accident took place on December 23 around 14:30 in the village of Rudnyky, Stryi district. According to preliminary police reports, a Volkswagen Tiguan driven by a 65-year-old local resident collided with a Ford Mondeo driven by a 28-year-old resident of the Stryi district.
As a result of the crash, the passenger of the Ford Mondeo, a 77-year-old woman from the Stryi district, sustained injuries and was hospitalized. “Investigators from the police department No.2 of Stryi district police department have opened a criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine”, the police report. The maximum penalty under this article is up to three years of imprisonment, with deprivation of the right to drive for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
