As a result of a car collision in the Lviv district, an eight-year-old boy and an elderly woman were injured – police are investigating the circumstances.
The traffic accident occurred on June 20, around 1:30 pm, in the village of Pidryasne, Lviv district. Preliminary investigations by law enforcement revealed a collision between a Volkswagen Caddy, driven by a 74-year-old resident of one of the Lviv district villages, and a MAN truck driven by a 24-year-old Lviv resident.
As a result of the accident, the passengers of the Volkswagen Caddy – an eight-year-old boy and a 71-year-old woman, both residents of the Lviv district – sustained bodily injuries and were hospitalized.
The investigators from police department No. 1 of the Lviv district police department No. 2 opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanction is imprisonment for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
