Two entrepreneurs from Truskavets and Sambir, aged 44 and 38, were exposed by officers of the Migration Police Department in Lviv region, together with servicemen of the 7th Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural supervision of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office.
The criminals organised a scheme for men liable for military service to cross the state border of Ukraine in wartime and provided their smuggling. For this purpose, the “clients” were registered in the relevant databases, consulted and, in some cases, provided with transport. Law enforcement officers documented 28 such facts.
The investigators served them a notice of suspicion of committing criminal offences under Part 2 of Article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 1 of Article 362 (Unauthorised actions with information processed in electronic computers, automated systems, computer networks or stored on the carriers of such information, committed by a person who has the right to access it) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty facing the suspects is imprisonment for up to seven years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
