
In the Lviv region, two road traffic accidents occurred over the past day, injuring pedestrians. The police urge adherence to traffic rules, to be attentive and cautious, and to cross the road only at pedestrian crossings and on a green light. During the hours of darkness, it is recommended to use reflective elements.
The first accident occurred on 10 April at around 21:25 on the ‘Kyiv-Chop’ highway near the village of Zahirtsi in the Zolochiv district. The driver of a VAZ-21104 car, a 28-year-old resident of the Sambir district, hit a 61-year-old resident of Stryi. The pedestrian sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalised. A criminal case has been opened under part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The other accident occurred at around 16:00 in the village of Lypnyky in the Lviv district. The driver of a VAZ-2104 car, a 25-year-old resident of Drohobych, hit a 60-year-old resident of the Lviv district. The pedestrian also sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalised. A criminal case has been opened under part 1 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Law enforcement officers continue to establish all the circumstances of the incidents.
