Two Pedestrians Injured in Road Accidents in Lviv Region

In the Lviv region, two road traffic accidents occurred in the past day, injuring pedestrians. The police urge citizens to adhere to traffic rules, remain vigilant and cautious. It is especially important to use reflective elements during the dark hours. Drivers are advised not to exceed speed limits and to be cautious at intersections. This was reported by MVS Lviv.

The first accident occurred on 23 March at around 15:00 on Sagaydachnoho Street in the town of Mostyska. The driver of a Renault Master, a 41-year-old resident of the Lviv district, hit a 67-year-old resident of the Yavoriv district. The injured party was hospitalised with bodily injuries.

The other accident took place at around 14:00 on Kulparkivska Street in Lviv. The driver of a Skoda, a 24-year-old resident of the Lviv region, struck a 37-year-old resident of the Lviv district. The pedestrian was also taken to hospital with injuries.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated for these incidents under part 1 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty under this article provides for up to three years of restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years. Law enforcement officers continue to establish all the circumstances of the events.
