
In the Lviv district, two pedestrians were injured as a result of two separate road traffic incidents. Law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of these events, as reported by MVS LVIV.
The police urge pedestrians to adhere to traffic rules, cross streets at pedestrian crossings and on a green light. It is especially important to use reflective elements in conditions of poor visibility. Drivers are requested not to exceed the speed limit and to be attentive near pedestrian crossings.
On 15th March on Horodotska Street in Lviv, a Ford Focus driver, a 39-year-old Lviv resident, collided with an 18-year-old local woman. The injured party was taken to hospital with bodily injuries. Another incident occurred in Briukhovychi, where a 78-year-old driver of a Proton Persona hit a 49-year-old resident of Yavoriv district, who was also hospitalised.
The police have opened criminal proceedings under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty under this article provides for up to three years of restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to drive.
