In Lviv, the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office secured a conviction against two men — aged 20 and 24, originally from Soledar — for the illegal acquisition, possession, and intent to distribute particularly dangerous narcotic and psychotropic substances in especially large quantities (Part 3, Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court sentenced them to 9 and 7 years in prison, respectively, with confiscation of their personal property.
Prosecutors proved that the individuals operated as part of an organized group with the intent to sell amphetamine, cannabis, and the psychotropic substance PVP. The drugs were concealed in household items and prepared for shipment via one of Lviv’s postal service terminals.
However, their plan was thwarted when law enforcement officers apprehended them near the post terminal. During a subsequent search at their residences, additional drugs, psychotropic substances, and packaging materials were discovered and seized.
Until the verdict becomes final, both individuals will remain in custody.
The pretrial investigation was carried out by investigators from Police Department No. 2 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2 under the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region.
