The traffic accident happened on September 19, around 2 p.m., on the Mukachevo-Ivano-Frankivsk-Rohatyn-Lviv highway near the village of Stare Selo, Lviv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Mercedes Benz E270 car, a 24-year-old resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, lost control, drove off the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The driver of the car and his passenger, a 28-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Stryi District, died at the scene of the injuries sustained as a result of the accident. Two more passengers of the car, 22-year-old residents of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, were injured and taken to the hospital.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
