The traffic accident occurred on October 27 at 5:45 p.m. in the city of Khyriv at the intersection of Dobromilska and Sambirska streets.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, a Mercedes minibus, driven by a 41-year-old resident of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk Region, and a Scania truck driven by a 40-year-old resident of Kovel, Volyn Region, collided.
As a result of the collision, two residents of Khirov, aged 50 and 56, who were near the scene of the accident, were injured. Both women were taken to hospital with injuries.
According to the fact, the investigators of the police department No. 1 of the Sambir district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
